Physiotherapy
Physiotherapist are first and foremost, movement specialists. the muscles, bones and joints work together to allow us to move. Physiotherapist are experts at assessing and treating conditions related to movement that can be caused by work place injuries, motor vehicle accidents, sport injuries, repetitive strain injuries...etc. Movement limitation can also be caused by chronic conditions such as chronic low back pain and osteoarthritis, but are not limited to the musculoskeletal system. Regardless of the origin of the condition, be it congenital, chronic or resulting from an injury, Physiotherapists are trained to help you move.
Chiropractic
Chiropractors are extensively educated in the prevention, assessment, diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions and associated neurological system and will recommend a course of treatment to help relieve pain and improve function without surgery or pharmaceuticals, such as manipulation, mobilization, soft tissue therapy, exercise, education, modalities and rehabilitation. Chiropractors are also trained to provide nutritional counselling, as well as recommend injury prevention strategies.
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues of the body including, muscles, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments and joints. Massage Therapy is a clinically-oriented healthcare option that helps alleviate the discomfort associated with everyday and occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions. Massage Therapy can be used to treat both acute and chronic conditions. RMTs can work with a variety of patient in the treatment of illness, injury rehabilitation and disability . Massage therapy can be beneficial to a wide variety of conditions.
A Registered Massage Therapist is a primary healthcare provider and anyone may visit an RMT of their choice. A referral or prescription is not required to visit an RMT, although some insurance companies may require this.
Athletic Therapy
Don’t let the word “athletic” in athletic therapy fool you. I am here to help you, the weekend warrior, the office worker, the industrial labourer, the active in whatever way you choose participant, with all of your musculoskeletal (muscle, tendon, ligament, joint, bone, nerve) injuries, aches and pains whether acute, chronic or recurring.
My unique style of active therapy is tailored to meet your concerns, needs and abilities. Always one-on-one, I focus my attention solely on you and together we determine how best to return you to a pain-free and improved level of activity.
